Review

by Kanin

Masaki played by Kyoko sadly gets infected by the HIV virus and that's pretty early in the story. From that moment on it's a big struggle for her and for her nearest people. I kinda like the relation between Masaki and her mother just because her mother is the one person that backs her up the most. The other persons reaction to Masaki's secret (illness) is def. not nice but maybe somehow understandable. The main story though, is about the love between Keigo, a famous songwriter, and Masaki. Many good thoughts are brought up in regard to the illness HIV, whom to blame and is it ok to have a baby and so on.

Of all the dramas I've seen Kyoko in she's had kinda odd characters such as in Fighting Girl, Strawberry on the Shortcake, To Heart and Otousan. But in this one she's been given a bigger role I think. I'm very impressed with her acting, cause when she did this she was only 17 years old (same as the character btw) and she's bringing this drama everything. She is brilliant and this was the type of drama I was looking for in contrast to her other ones I've seen. A much more serious drama.

Takeshi I have seen in another drama, Golden Bowl and in the movie Space Travelers and I read he's also in Love 2000 but I haven't seen that one yet.

Even if it's a kinda dark story and yes, it's a sad story as well, it's definately a beautiful love story and it leaves you content somehow despite the situation, mainly because of the character Kyoko portrays. I would say it's a high risk of crying watching most of the episodes (I know I did) just because of her many ups and downs (actually alot of downs). So be prepared, it's a roller coaster of feelings. If you like Kyoko the tinyest bit this is a must see.
